Pardon

A zis si Erich Fromm un lucru destept "Love [] an act of will" iar romanii nostrii au tradus-o la modul "Iubirea este un act de credinţă". Citat celebru, da?

Ca sa ne fie clar, Fromm a spus de fapt "Love should be essentially an act of will, of a decision to commit my life completely to that of one other person" lucru care inseamna total altceva; Iubirea este in principiu un act voluntar, decizia de a ma darui complet unei alte persoane.

Adica nu trebuie sa crezi.. ci sa o creezi. Big difference, don't you think?

Cine stie ce alte citate celebre au fost interpretate si traduse gresit ?!

Morala: Oi fi tu autor de carti domnule, dar am o minte si nu mi-e frica sa o folosesc. And if I'll behave from now on it's only because I have an angle (episodul 3 din Samantha Who din care se poate intelege ce inseamna a avea an angle).

Pentru un plus de lamurire redau dintr-un articol de-al lui George Washington, politically related, in care zicea "hope is an act of will, not a passive mood. Admittedly, things are easier when circumstances bring hope to us, and we can just receive the hopeful and inspiring news.

But if we care about winning, we have to be able to decide to have hope even when outer circumstances aren't so positive."
